Advocating for Western Australia's Defence Industry

Since being elected as a Senator for Western Australia in 2014, I have tirelessly advocated for Western Australia's defence industry.  As a long-term supporter, I recognise the importance of creating a sovereign defence industry in our great state, ensuring national security and protecting the members of the Australian Defence Force.

Western Australia is an economic powerhouse that is vital in powering our national economy forward.  The Federal Government is investing in the Western Australian defence industry to ensure jobs and growth for the future of the Western Australian economy and the national economy.

The defence industry capability of Australia is great and this is vital to support our personnel.  WA is now home to 33 of 54 next generation vessels for the Royal Australian Navy.  As a Senator for Western Australia and Minister for Defence, I am proud that there are so many Western Australians working to ensure that our army and naval personnel have the best possible equipment that they can serve on.

Our state's defence industry is very bright indeed!

SASR is one of eight Australian Army special operations units of Special Operations Command. Special Operations Command generates, commands and reconstitutes high-readiness world-class joint forces to conduct inter-agency and combined special operations in support of Australia’s national interests.
